Lolita and I made this film a couple of summers ago on a camping trip to Pembrokeshire. In many ways we think of this film as at least partly a documentary rather than a story. However, when you start living a mythic life, with dreams and visions feeding into the significance of your choices, it becomes hard to construct a film about it without the result taking on the appearance of fiction.
A short horror film made in 2009 around Lynton, Lynmouth, Minehead and in between. It was a strange experience and a great adventure. It is also the first film that Anton and I made together. It was filmed around Beltane and it seems appropriate to release it for Walpurgisnacht. The first scene includes the genuine Minehead Hobby Horse.
One of our mythic documentaries exploring our relationship with the magical troll spirits of the woods.
“Red and green should ne’er be seen, ‘cept in service to the fairy queen.”
The fool of this tale wears red and green, sealing their fate at the hands of the trolls. But is all as it seems? Did they enter willingly as an initiate into the service of the Fae Queen?
